Mass food poisoning registered in Issyk-Kul region

Mass food poisoning was registered in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. At least 26 people turned to the hospital for medical help. The Ministry of Health reported with reference to the Issyk-Kul Interdistrict Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Prevention of Infectious Diseases.

A feast was held in one of the houses in Chok-Tal village on October 5. On the next day, October 6, the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center received a report of a case of mass poisoning. 19 people were hospitalized in the infectious diseases department of the Cholpon-Ata territorial hospital, and one person was hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Another person sought medical help at the Balykchy city hospital, and another — at the Ton territorial hospital.

Specialists from the Issyk-Kul Interdistrict Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance found out that three cooks from Bishkek were invited to the feast and they did not undergo a medical examination.

They purchased products for cooking at Dordoi Motors market in Bishkek.

At least 19 people, including 6 children over 12 months old, turned to the hospital with signs of food poisoning. Tests were taken from all patients, they were provided with medical care, and antibiotic therapy was prescribed. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory.
