A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held today and tomorrow in Yerevan (Armenia) in person. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported.
The meeting will be attended by the heads of government of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, the observer states at the EAEU Cuba and Uzbekistan, and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The parties will discuss the state of mutual trade in 2020, joint forecasts for the development of the agro-industrial complex, supply and demand balances of the union countries for agricultural products, food, raw hides, wool, flax and cotton fiber for 2021-2022.
In addition, it is planned to discuss an action plan for the supply of raw materials to metallurgical enterprises of the EAEU states for 2021-2024, the progress of work on rapprochement of the positions of the union countries within the climate agenda.
The heads of government of the EAEU states plan to sign an agreement on the procedure for the exchange of information included in credit histories.
«It is also planned to consider an agreement on the use of navigation seals in the EAEU for tracking shipments, a draft strategy for biological safety of the Union, issues of electronic commerce, including the approval of a roadmap for creation of favorable conditions for its development within the EAEU. In addition, the parties plan to approve an action plan to increase the level of provision of the EAEU countries with strategically important medicines and pharmaceutical substances for medical use, production of which should be ensured in the EAEU until 2024,» the statement says.
The heads of government will be provided with information on the implementation of the order of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on the list of exemptions and restrictions on the EAEU internal market to be eliminated in 2021-2022. The agenda also includes the issue of amending the list of goods produced in Kazakhstan, in respect of which it is allowed to use the certificate of origin of serial products. Issues of ensuring equal conditions for participation in the program for the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment in the Republic of Kazakhstan for manufacturers of the EAEU and third countries, amendments to the technical regulations of the Union on food safety will also be considered.
