Uzbekistan announces 187 victims of conflict on border with Kyrgyzstan

At least 187 citizens of Uzbekistan suffered in clashes on May 31 near Chechme (Chashma) spring on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. Anhor.uz media outlet reports, citing the press service of the administration of Sokh district.

The victims were taken to the Sokh Central District Hospital. «At the same time, 15 people were transported to the Fergana Regional Central Hospital by an ambulance aircraft,» the media outlet says.

Recall, the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported about 25 victims. The conflict on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border occurred due to a joint cleaning of the spring. It started with a skirmish between residents of two villages. Each of the parties claimed that Chechme spring well belonged to them. Then the parties began to throw stones at each other.
