In 2019, peak influx of tourists is expected in Kyrgyzstan. Director General of Kyrgyz Tourism State Enterprise Daniyar Kazakov told today at a press conference.
He noted that direct flights from Qatar and Seoul are opened this year, which will increase the number of tourists. «A lot of applications come from India, China and the United Arab Emirates,» said Daniyar Kazakov.
«We are ready to consider projects, look for investors, help with land issues, laying of communications,» Daniyar Kazakov said.
According to the Director of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism, Maksat Damir uulu, the ministry focuses on attracting tourists from Arab countries.
«Kyrgyzstan participated in major events in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. We will take part in an exhibition in Dubai for the first time on April 28,» he stressed.
According to the official, a traditional tourism fair will be held in Issyk-Kul in May. «Representatives of all regions of the republic will take part in it,» he explained.
Last year, the Kyrgyz Republic was visited by 6,946,500 people. According to the National Statistical Committee, at least 1.4 million of them were tourists.
«But if we base on international standards for counting of tourists, then about a half of the foreigners who visited the country were tourists. In other words, it is about 3 million people. We hope that the figure will increase by other 15 percent in 2019,» Maksat Damir uulu added.
