Over 220 heavy trucks wait in line on Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan border

As of 8.00 am on April 1, 2019, at least 223 heavy trucks have accumulated on Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the state border at Ak-Tilek-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint. The State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Since 20.00 on March 31 until this morning, 158 trucks drove through the checkpoint.

According to the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, there are 60-70 cars and 25-30 trucks at Chon-Kapka checkpoint.

The state service reminds that the situation was caused by a thorough inspection of goods by the Kazakh side, which leads to an increase in the time of inspection of vehicles at checkpoints of Kazakhstan.

There are no groups of people or queues of vehicles at Akzhol, Chaldybar, Tokmok and Ken-Bulun checkpoints. They operate daily.

The accumulation of heavy trucks on the border began on March 19, 2019. However, not a single official of the Kyrgyz government has yet informed the public what was being done to stabilize the situation.
