Road reconstruction and investment projects were discussed during a meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan, Du Dewen. Mayor of Bishkek Aziz Surakmatov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, within the first phase of the project, two streets were not repaired, in particular, an overpass bridge on Leo Tolstoy Street. It is necessary to relocate heat networks there. «This is a very expensive work, and the issue with financing has been just decided,» the mayor noted.
Aziz Surakmatov added that there was a list of comments on the first phase, they were handed over to contractors. «After their elimination we will accept it into service with participation of technical inspection,» he noted.
The city administration starts work within the second phase of the project. Streets without problems with demolition of trees and fences will be repaired first. The project provides for reconstruction of 60 Bishkek streets with a length of 70.87 kilometers.
Aziz Surakmatov added that they paid attention to issues of business development and investment.
«The Chinese side promises big investments in Bishkek. We will create conditions for business development. We want Bishkek to be open to investment,» he said.
