Conflict on border with Tajikistan. Condition of wounded is stable

Condition of the wounded during a conflict on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border is stable. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to the Health Care Coordinator for Batken region, Arzybek Borubekov, four victims are in the Department of Traumatology of Batken Regional Combined Hospital. Three of them have gunshot wounds, one — closed head injury and brain concussion.

«The condition of the patients is stable, they receive the necessary treatment,» he noted.

Doctors and nursing staff are on duty in places of temporary resettlement of Ak-Sai village residents.

«From 14 to 17 March 2019, at least 45 people applied for medical aid with various diagnoses, 16 of them were hospitalized (intestinal infection, high blood pressure, diabetes and more), 8 of them are children. The condition of all is satisfactory. Ultrasound and laboratory tests were organized for evacuees; 2 psychologists and 1 psychotherapist were sent from the Osh Mental Health Center to provide psychological assistance to the residents of border villages,» the Ministry of Health stressed.

The conflict occurred in Batken region on Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border over construction of Ak-Sai — Tamdyk road on March 13-14. Residents of border villages threw stones at each other. Border guards of both countries used weapons to disperse people. As of today, the situation is stable, but Osh — Isfana road is still blocked in the area of ​​the Tajik enclave Vorukh.
