The Far Eastern District Military Court of Russia will consider a criminal case against a 31-year-old citizen of Kyrgyzstan who, while living in Abakan, induced residents to participate in a military conflict in Syria on the side of terrorists. RIA Novosti reports with reference to the prosecutor’s office in Khakassia.
According to investigators, the accused had certain conversations with a number of residents, in which he preached the ideology of terrorism «for building by force» the so-called Islamic caliphate in the Middle East and Central Asia.
«By initiating certain topics of conversations, reporting information justifying the necessity and correctness of the ideology of terrorism, creating an emotionally significant and attractive image of an Islamist radical in dialogues, displaying materials on the activities of illegal armed groups, their leaders and ideologists, distorting the traditional dogmas of Islam, he induced a number of residents of Abakan to participate in the illegal armed group operating in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic,» the message says.
The criminal case with an indictment was sent to the court. The defendant faces from 5 to 15 years in prison.
