UN adopts anti-Russian resolution on Crimea. Kyrgyzstan abstained

Kyrgyzstan abstained from voting in the adoption by the UN General Assembly of a resolution initiated by Ukraine calling on Russia to withdraw its troops «from the territory of the occupied Crimea.» RBC-Ukraine reported.

The resolution calls for an end to the illegal occupation of the Ukrainian territory and condemns the buildup of Russia’s military presence in the Black and Azov Seas and obstructing navigation.

The document was supported by 66 countries, 19 states voted against, 72 abstained.

The document says that the UN General Assembly «expresses concern over reports of continuing destabilization of the Crimea as a result of Russia’s supply of weapons systems to Ukraine, including nuclear aircraft and missiles, weapons, ammunition and military personnel.» According to the document, the UN General Assembly «urges the Russian Federation to stop such activities.»
