Chingiz Aitmatov and Manas Academy will be opened in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov announced at an event in honor of the 90th anniversary of the writer Chingiz Aitmatov.
According to him, the academy will be located in the new building on Razzakov Street.
«There is Aitmatov Avenue in Bishkek. It is symbolic that Manas Avenue goes into Aitmatov Avenue. Chingiz Torekulovich made a great contribution to the study and publication of Manas epic. His role in the promotion of the epic in the whole world is great. If Manas is the pinnacle of our culture, then Aitmatov is the pinnacle of our spirit,» said Sooronbai Jeenbekov.
He added that Chingiz-Ordo complex was being built in Sheker village — in the writer’s birthplace.
