Russia bans import of 440.15 tons of products from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan

Rosselkhoznadzor department for Orenburg Oblast of Russia stopped 23 attempts of illegal import of plant products from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan weighing more than 440.15 tons. Website of the department reported.

It was found out that 179 tons of grapes, bell pepper, onions and melons from Kazakhstan and 118.15 tons of bell pepper and grapes from Kyrgyzstan were imported with invalid phytosanitary certificates (incomplete and containing inaccurate information.)

At least 950 juniper saplings from Kyrgyzstan were detained for the absence of documents certifying their varietal and sowing qualities.

About 103 tons of onions, melons and grapes were imported without a phytosanitary certificate confirming the quality, safety and country of origin of the products. At least 40 tons of melons of Kazakhstan origin were imported with phytosanitary certificates, information in which did not correspond to information in transport (shipping) documents.

Import of all products was banned. Guilty were brought to administrative responsibility. All goods were returned to senders.
