The Kyrgyz language was granted the status of the state language on September 23, 1989.
He also said that in September the National Commission on the State Language announced a three-month campaign Mother Tongue and Aitmatov, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the national writer of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aitmatov.
Sooronbai Jeenbekov supported the initiative. «This is a good initiative contributing to the comprehensive opening of Aitmatov’s world, wide propaganda of the writer’s works,» the president said.
The head of state, having touched upon the issue of teaching the Kyrgyz language in pre-school institutions and primary classes, recommended using the practice of the children’s magazine Baichechekey in publishing textbooks for children and making it an official partner.
