Doctors of the military medical unit of the State Committee for National Security do not see the need to hospitalize the former prime minister Jantoro Satybaldiev. The head of the National Center for Torture Prevention, Nurdin Sulaimanov, told 24.kg news agency, referring to the official response of the State Committee, received by the center’s representatives and the lawyers of the arrested.
According to him, Zhantoro Satybaldiev is under constant medical supervision, and there is no need to transfer him to a hospital.
«That is, we were refused, despite the constant complaints of the defendant, the demands of lawyers to conduct a comprehensive medical examination and the conclusion of our cardiologist. Zhantoro Satybaldiev will remain in the detention center of SCNS,» Nurdin Sulaimanov said.
The ex-prime minister was placed in the pretrial detention center on June 20. The lawyers appealed the measure of restraint in a higher court, but the former official remained in custody.
At least four criminal cases were initiated and seven former top managers of the energy sector were arrested within criminal case on breakdown and modernization of Bishkek HPP, including the former head of the Energy Holding Aibek Kaliev and the former general director of Electric Stations OJSC Salaidin Avazov.
In addition, another former prime minister Sapar Isakov, former mayor of Bishkek Kubanychbek Kulmatov and MP Osmonbek Artykbaev are in custody. All of them were charged with corruption.
