«There are even no toilets in Issyk-Kul region,» the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev said in Cholpon-Ata during discussion of the problems of tourism development in the country.
The head of government drew attention of the representatives of the tourism industry to the lack of developed maps of the routes, as well as professional guides, specialists and rescuers, who would provide emergency assistance to tourists in case of accidents. In his opinion, all this negatively affects the influx of tourists into the country.
«The death of four mountaineers from the Czech Republic in 2007, the disappearance of the Ukrainian and four Russian mountaineers in 2008, the death of climbers from Iran and Poland, the death of a Lithuanian mountaineer in Ala-Archa in 2018 and the death of an Ukrainian mountaineer last year say a lot,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.
He instructed local authorities and tourism organizations to pay due attention to the creation of favorable conditions for tourists in nature parks.
«There are no camping centers in the parks that meet international standards. There are even no good toilets,» he said.
There is also an acute problem with treatment facilities. As it turned out, only 111 out of 193 resorts have such facilities.
