More than $479 million of income was received from tourism in Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2024. The National Statistical Committee reported.
Export of tourism services for the first six months of the year, according to estimates, amounted to $479.7 million. Compared to the same period in 2023, it increased by 1.8 percent.
The import of tourism services in this period, according to estimates, amounted to $280.1 million. According to the National Statistical Committee, the expenses of Kyrgyzstanis abroad increased by 6.9 percent.
Earlier, the Director of Tourism Department under the Ministry of Economy Maksat Usubaliev reported that the number of registered entities related to the tourism sector increased to 135,800 units in the first half of 2024.
According to his data, 6.143 million foreigners arrived in the Kyrgyz Republic through border checkpoints in the first eight months of this year. For the entire last year, this figure was about 8.5 million people.
