Government promises to launch Safe City in Bishkek in autumn

Safe City project will start working in Bishkek in the autumn. The First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov announced this at the session of the Parliament.

According to him, at present, the work of the cameras installed in Bishkek is being analyzed. According to statistics, road safety increased and the number of violations reduced at the intersection where they have been installed.

«We will draw up the documentation by June 18. Previously, there was no feasibility study. It took us a while to do this work. We will look for partners. Public-private partnership is being considered. We will begin installation of cameras in Bishkek in the autumn,» Kubatbek Boronov told.

The government hopes that thanks to the project, the collection of fines will increase from 18 to 35 percent, and the number of violations on the roads will decrease from 7 to 2 percent.
