The former prime minister of Kyrgyzstan was arrested. The day before, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek upheld a motion of the investigator of the State Committee for National Security to change the measure of restraint for Sapar Isakov from written undertaking not to leave the city to arrest.
Sapar Isakov will be kept in the pretrial detention center of the State Committee for National Security till the end of investigation — for two months.
Previously, he was formally charged with corruption.
According to his lawyer, Uchkun Karimov, the court found it possible to apply the arrest because it believes: Sapar Isakov may obstruct the investigation, he is charged under a serious article of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The former head of the government told reporters that this was a complete injustice.
