Former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev does not withdraw property claims against the lawyer of the former deputy Omurbek Tekebayev Taalaigul Toktakunova. The personal representative of the former head of state Nurbek Sydykov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the day before, the hearing on the alienation of her property was supposed to take place, but the defendant did not come. «She did not come for the second time. The next meeting was scheduled for May 16. If she does not come, it is likely that the court hearing will take place without her,» Nurbek Sydykov said.
The Bishkek City Court on October 4, 2017 granted the suit of the Prosecutor General’s Office on the protection of honor and dignity of Almazbek Atambayev. The plaintiff asked to recognize the information, voiced at the press conference by lawyers Taalaigul Toktakunova and Kanatbek Aziz, untrue. The court granted the claim and recovered from the defendants 10 million soms. The property of Taalaigul Toktakunova was seized.
On November 30, 2017, the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the lower courts.
