President appoints Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan

The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a decree, appointing Otkurbek Dzhamshitov the Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan. Presidential press service reported. The new head of the supervisory body was introduced to the staff the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic today.

Earlier, the deputies of the Parliament supported his candidacy. 109 deputies out of 110 present voted for him.

Otkurbek Dzhamshitov was born in Toloykon village, Kara-Suu district of Osh region. He is 42 years old.

In 1996, he graduated from the Kyrgyz National University with a degree in jurisprudence.

In 1997, he began his career as an intern, assistant prosecutor in Talas prosecutor’s office. From 1999 to 2008, he worked as an investigator in the prosecutor’s offices of Talas, Bakai-Ata, Alay districts, in Osh regional prosecutor’s office.

On January 21, 2008, he was appointed deputy prosecutor of Kadamdzhay district prosecutor’s office. In 2011, he worked as a prosecutor of Lyailyak district.

Since July 1, 2015 — the prosecutor of Jalal-Abad region.

He has a class rank of the Judicial Counsellor of the 2nd class.
