Two Kyrgyzstanis arrested in St. Petersburg on terrorism charges

Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg authorized the arrest of two Kyrgyz citizens, who tried to leave for Syria to fight in the ranks of the international terrorist organization Jabhat an-Nusrah. RIA Novosti reported.

«The court granted applications for the arrest for two months against two citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic — 21-year-old Marufzhon Isakov and 20-year-old Kamoliddin Azimzhanov, suspected of committing a crime under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for participation in the activities of a terrorist organization),» statement says.

The both suspects did not object to the arrest. The argument of the investigation in favor of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention was the fact that the detainees lacked a permanent place of residence and registration in Russia. The document on the temporary registration of the both suspects turned out to be void.
