Kyrgyzstan may become a model for Central Asian countries

Kyrgyzstan may become an example for the countries of Central Asia. The President of the European Council Donald Tusk announced the day before at the meeting with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

On behalf of all the member states of the European Union, he highly assessed the work of Kyrgyzstan in the field of ensuring democratic standards.

«You may become a model, an example for the countries of the whole region. We appreciate this and are impressed by the results of your work, despite all the difficulties that Kyrgyzstan had,» said Donald Tusk.

Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted that Kyrgyzstan also highly appreciates cooperation with the European Union. He expressed gratitude for the support in the granting the mandate on the new Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation and noted that this document would help to bring cooperation to a qualitatively new level, contribute to the improvement of the social and economic situation in the country.

He reminded that Kyrgyzstan is ready to export organic products to the markets of Europe.

We are carrying out economic reforms, improving the business environment, creating conditions for exporters and investments in the agriculture, tourism, transport, as well as in the mining, hydropower spheres. We intend to increase the turnover to $ 1 billion. In this regard, the Kyrgyz exporters need assistance of EU in using the full potential and benefits of GSP + status.
