Landslide in Osh region leaves almost 20,000 people without drinking water

An old landslide of 25-30 cubic meters has shifted by 1-1.5 meters at Alaychi-Ata area, Pervoye Maya village, today at about 11.30 am. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, as a result, the pipes that suppled residents of Kara-Kuldzha, Biymyrza (18,491 people), with drinking water were damaged.

The municipal enterprise Kara-Kulzha Taza Suu carries out measures to provide residents with drinking water.

Civil protection services were notified for taking appropriate measures in case of threat of landslide. The activation of the landslide process threatens to damage three power lines pillars, as well as an internal road.

There are no threats for the villagers, the landslide site is located at a distance of 500 meters from the village.
