The Social Democrats decide on the date of holding their republican congress. The member of the Political Council of the party, MP Marat Amankulov informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the congress, according to preliminary data, will be held at the end of February. The exact date has not yet been determined, and preparations are underway.
The agenda consists of only one issue: nomination and election of ex-president Almazbek Atambayev as chairman of the political organization.
Being the head of the state, Almazbek Atambayev told reporters that he would remain in politics and reform the party. The former president also noted that he would head the party list of SDPK at future parliamentary elections.
