Several candidates, suspended from presidential elections, sue CEC

Deputies of parliamentary factions «Kyrgyzstan» and «Onuguu-Progress» Kanatbek Isayev and Iskhak Masaliyev sued the CEC. They informed 24.kg news agency about this.

In their opinion, the Central Electoral Commission made an illegal decision recognizing their subscription lists as unreliable and removing them from participation in the election campaign. «Obviously, this is an order. I will challenge in court my right to be elected. Yes, there is a legal action on my case, but the verdict hasn’t been made,» Kanatbek Isaev said.

Iskhak Masaliev added that he didn’t pay for the production of forms for collection of signatures in the printing house and at the expense of the election fund, but simply took a sample from the CEC website, printed it, and then made photocopies at home, but this doesn’t violate the law. «Nowhere is it said that I have to pay to make a form from my fund. This rule simply doesn’t exist in the legislation,» Iskhak Masaliyev said.

Ex-Ombudsman Tursunbek Akun also intends to sue the CEC. Akhmatbek Keldibekov, former Speaker of the parliament, filed an application to the court. The Central Election Commission also didn’t allow them for the presidential elections.
