The presidential candidate Omurbek Tekebayev, who was actually removed from the election race, as it became known yesterday, passed the examination of the state language, the headquarters of Ata Meken party informed 24.kg news agency.
It is noted that today, on August 17, Omurbek Tekebayev’s lawyer — Isken Afidzhanov, as usual came to GKNB to visit his client. However, he was not allowed. The duty officer told the lawyer that the arrested person is resting and shouldn’t be bothered now. Iskhen Afidzhanov came later.
Having met with Omurbek Tekebayev, the lawyer learned that from 2 pm to 4 pm he didn’t rest, but passed the test in the Kyrgyz language. An employee of «Kyrgyztest» came to the GKNB. Tekebayev answered all the questions, and the woman, having sealed the answers in the envelope, left.
«What prevented the CEC from July 26 to August 17 to conduct a similar test of Tekebayev’s knowledge of the state language?» Iskhen Afidzhanov asked.
It became known that the sum of points collected by Tekebaev was 93.75.
According to him, this once again proves the political nature of the criminal case brought against Omurbek Tekebayev.
Omurbek Tekebayev was convicted of corruption and sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the CEC announced that if Tekebayev was acquitted, he would be admitted to the presidential election-2017 as a candidate.
