Details of UN Secretary – General visit to Kyrgyzstan

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will visit Kyrgyzstan on June 10. This was announced today at a briefing in the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Antonio Guterres had previously visited Kyrgyzstan when being the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

As the head of the Department for International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Seyit Ubukeyev noted, Antonio Guterres will also visit the south of the republic and take part in the requiem dedicated to the 7^th anniversary of Osh events. He will also visit the memorial complex «Mother’s Tears," erected in memory of the tragic events in June 2010.

Seyit Ubukeyev added that the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) — Li Yong — will arrive in Kyrgyzstan. It is planned that he will meet with the Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov and the sides will sign an agreement on settlement of Kyrgyzstan's membership fees debt to UNIDO.
