From February 2016 until now, the State Insurance Organization (SIO) has paid 6,609,440 soms to victims of various natural disasters, Deputy Chairman of the Board of SIO JSC Burulkan Kalmatova stated at a press conference.
According to her, if to compare the six months of last year and five months of this year, one can see an increase in the number of people wishing to insure their property.
«If in 2016 ten thousand houses were insured, then for five months of 2017, 10,877 people insured their housing," the official added.
As for the payment of insurance to victims of the recent earthquake, Burulkan Kalmatova said that of the insured 192 houses in the Chon-Alai region, 25 were damaged.
«24 million people were immediately paid 4,889 million soms, only one owner didn’t open an account. But the other day he will open an account, and the SIO will transfer to him insurance sum," she specified.
