Tazabek Ikramov demands to set higher tariffs for electricity

The deputy of the Parliament Tazabek Ikramov demands to set higher tariffs for electricity for the city residents because they have heating and hot water. He stated this today at the session of the Parliament.

The head of National Energy Holding Company JSC Aibek Kaliev told that the whole energy system of Kyrgyzstan is in a ring. It operates under uniform rules and tariffs. However, Tazabek Ikramov considered it as unfair.

Everyone should pay for his comfort. If you don’t supply hot water to the village, why do you make people pay like in cities?

He added that people in the villages burn coals in their stoves, so they could pay less.

Aibek Kaliev answered that it is impossible to set tariffs in such a way that, for example, in Bishkek the population pays 5 soms per 1 kilowatt, and in villages — 70 tyiyns.
