Bishkek celebrates Nooruz. Activities take place since early in the morning. Diplomatic missions of foreign countries organized an exhibition-fair of their national dishes and souvenirs near the monument to Kurmanjan Datka, between Ala-Too cinema and the gallery of artists.

Representatives of diasporas, dressed in national clothes, invite guests to taste various goodies in front of the Assembly of the Peoples of Kyrgyzstan.

Officially, the celebration of Nooruz took place on Ala-Too Square. Bishkek Mayor Albek Ibraimov and the head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov congratulated the guests. Children’s dance ensembles and artists performed after that.

A brisk trade takes place near the Oak Park, there is sold the main dish of the Central Asian New Year — sumolok.

As the mayor’s office press service told, the celebration is taking place in many residential areas, parks, squares of the capital.
