The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported the detention of two officials from the Department of Internal Affairs of Pervomaisky district in Bishkek suspected of extorting a large amount of money.
According to the security services, the deputy head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Pervomaisky district, A.N.A., and the head of the Criminal Investigation Department, A.I.A., acting in collusion, initiated criminal proceedings against citizen A.M.M. Afterward, through an intermediary—legal representative K.A.T.—they demanded $30,000 from the defendant’s son, M.U.M., to drop the case.
Following confrontations and investigative actions, both high-ranking officials of the Department of Internal Affairs were detained and placed in the State Committee for National Security’s temporary detention facility. The investigation is currently identifying other individuals involved in the corruption scheme.
The State Committee for National Security emphasized that efforts to cleanse the security forces of corruption are ongoing.
