Unrest in Mexico: MFA asks Kyrgyzstanis to refrain from traveling to country

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is urging citizens of Kyrgyzstan to refrain from traveling to Mexico due to unrest.

According to the ministry’s press service, citizens staying there are advised to avoid large gatherings and follow local government recommendations.

Following the assassination of El Mencho, the leader of Mexico’s largest drug cartel, the Jalisco New Generation, mass unrest has erupted in several states. According to incoming reports, the death toll is at least 18.
