SCNS: Border guard and foreign national detained for illegal border crossing

Border Service soldier I.T.M. and foreign national F.B. have been detained on suspicion of illegally crossing the state border. The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

According to the SCNS, on September 17, as part of a criminal case opened under Articles 337 «Abuse of Office» and 338 «Illegal Crossing of the State Border» of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, it was established that the foreign national, with the assistance of a Kyrgyz border guard, crossed the state border without permits.

The detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility.

The State Committee clarified that investigative measures are ongoing to identify other officials who may be involved in the foreign national’s illegal passage.
