Nurlan Zhumaev has been appointed Deputy Minister of Water Resources — Director of the Water Resources Service. The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The new deputy minister was introduced to the staff by the Minister of Water Resources Bakyt Torobaev. The appointment was made in accordance with the order of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Nurlan Zhumaev was born in 1974. He has two higher educations: he graduated from the Kazakh Agricultural Institute and the Kyrgyz State Law Academy. His experience in forestry, environmental protection and the agro-industrial sector is about 30 years.
He has held senior positions since 2002. From 2003 to 2005, he was the director of Jety-Oguz Mekhleskhoz. From 2005 to 2010, he headed departments in the State Forest Service and the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry.
In 2010, he began working in the structures of the presidential administration and the government apparatus of the Kyrgyz Republic as an expert on the agro-industrial complex and nature management, and from 2012 to 2015 he was an expert on ecology and the agro-industrial complex.
From 2015 to 2021, he held the post of Deputy Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, after which he became Director of the Department of Forest Ecosystem Development. From 2021 to 2024, he worked as the head of the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture.
From March 2024 until this appointment, he held the position of head of the Department for the Implementation of Decisions of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
