Kyrgyzstan ranks 146th in Global Soft Power Index 2025

Kyrgyzstan has moved two positions up in the Global Soft Power Index 2025, ranking 146th with 28.8 points. The ranking has been compiled by the consulting organization Brand Finance for six years in a row.

The Global Soft Power Index measures a country’s ability to influence the international community through persuasion and attractiveness rather than coercion (hard power). In other words, soft power is the level of a state’s positive reputation in the international arena, which shapes the desire of other countries to voluntarily build partnerships with this state.

The index was compiled based on a survey of over 170,000 people from more that 100 different countries to assess the world’s perception of 193 countries. Each country was assessed based on 55 different indicators, including business and trade, media and communication, culture and heritage, education and science, people and values, international relations, governance, sustainable future, influence and reputation.

Kyrgyzstan has the following scores in the index:

The greatest growth over the year was reached in the categories «Education and Science» (+21) and «People and Values» (+10). Kyrgyzstan worsened its positions in such indicators as «Sustainable Future» (-9) and «Media and Communications» (-8).

The first place in the ranking is occupied by the United States. The second and third places are taken by China and the United Kingdom. Russia is in 16th place, Ukraine is in 46th. Belarus is in 80th place in the ranking.

Tajikistan is in 141st place, Uzbekistan — in 99th place, Kazakhstan is 87th, Turkmenistan — 134th.
