The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan reported how many licenses for deposit development and exploration Kyrgyzkomur state enterprise has received.
According to the press service of the ministry, 20 licenses were transferred to the state enterprise. In 2024, Kyrgyzkomur produced 1.6 million tons of coal. Stripping operations in the amount of 11.1 million cubic meters were also carried out.
The Ministry of Energy reported that two deposits, located in the south of the republic, were put into development — Zagara-2 and Urmizan-3. In order to provide the population with solid fuel at low cost in a timely manner in the autumn-winter period, Kyrgyzkomur state enterprise concluded agreements with 75 fuel depots. At least 80,000 tons of coal were mined at Ak-Ulak deposit, which were transferred for the needs of Bishkek.
In 2023, the state enterprise received 13 licenses for the development of coal deposits. Together with China, Kyrgyzkomur planned to extract solid fuel at Suluktu, Karabulak, Besh-Burkhan, Kok-Zhangak, Tegenek, Dagara, Urmizan, and Ak-Ulak deposits.
