President Ilham Aliyev visited Chingiz Aitmatov house-museum as part of his visit to the summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The press service of the President of Azerbaijan reported.
During the visit, he was awarded the Chingiz Aitmatov Order in recognition of his contribution to strengthening cultural ties between the Turkic peoples.
Chingiz Aitmatov house-museum is located in Chon-Aryk village on the outskirts of Bishkek. The museum was opened in 2014 in the house, where the writer spent the last years of his life. The exposition includes Aitmatov’s personal belongings, manuscripts and awards, as well as his work room and library.
The Chingiz Aitmatov Order was established to reward individuals, who have made a significant contribution to the development of culture, literature and strengthening friendship between peoples.
