Acute viral hepatitis rates in Kyrgyzstan have increased 3.3 times. The Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported based on the results of the first nine months of 2024.
According to the department, the growth is due to an increase in cases of viral hepatitis A, which accounts for 98.6 percent of the total number of registered acute viral hepatitis cases.
At least 10,969 cases of hepatitis were registered, which is much more than in the same period last year, when 3,114 cases were recorded.
At the same time, high rates are observed in Batken, Jalal-Abad and Osh regions.
Some 8,017 cases are chronic viral hepatitis. High incidence rates are registered in Batken, Osh, Naryn and Chui regions.
