Climate Week will be held in Kyrgyzstan from October 7 to October 11. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision reported.
It noted that the event is timed to coincide with the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
«The main goal of Climate Week is to draw attention to Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to combat climate change, slow down the rise in global temperatures and adapt to existing consequences,» the Ministry of Natural Resources reported.
The event will involve all representatives of science, civil society, the private sector and international partners. The Ministry of Natural Resources calls on state and public organizations to support Climate Week by holding forums, events and exhibitions aimed at raising awareness of climate challenges and promoting positive changes in people’s behavior.
The ministry noted that Climate Week is held within the framework of the instructions of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov.
