After the salary increase, some doctors received from 70,000 to 90,000 soms in September. The Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, this applies to in-demand specialists (surgeons, pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators) working in remote regions (At-Bashi, Chon-Alai, Ak-Talaa) and receiving compensation payments.
Recall, payments in the amount of 20,000 soms were set from July 1, 2024, and doctors’ salaries were increased by 50 percent from September 1.
Alymkadyr Beishenaliev noted that he remembers his promise to bring the salary of an ordinary doctor to $1,000.
«I think we will reach it in the coming years. If everything is fine, I will raise it for sure. We plan to raise the salaries of doctors in Osh and Bishkek before the New Year. The President said to count how much is needed. We have the main staff here, and compensation of 20,000 soms was set only for the regions. Taxes are not deducted from these payments,» the Minister of Health said.
He added that the issue of increasing the salaries of accountants and other workers not only in the healthcare sector, but also in education is also being discussed.
