Kyrgyzstan has reduced the volume of coal imported from Kazakhstan. The Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev told on the air of Birinchi Radio.
According to him, to date, the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant has a reserve of 200,000 tons of solid fuel.
«Every year, 550,000-600,000 tons of coal were purchased from neighboring countries. This year, this volume was reduced to 180,000 tons. According to the plan, in the next three years we plan to stop importing solid fuel from Kazakhstan. We have Ak-Ulak deposit in Min-Kush village in Naryn region. We did not value the coal mined there before. We have attracted investors and are using Naryn solid fuel at the HPP,» Taalaibek Ibraev said.
He noted that the quality of Ak-Ulak coal is not inferior to that from Kazakhstan.
