The death toll from the second wave of explosions in Lebanon has risen to 14, with at least 450 people injured as Hezbollah militants’ walkie-talkies exploded.
According to Reuters, the explosions were recorded on September 18 in the south of the country and in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
At least one of the explosions occurred at a funeral of the members of the group, who were killed in the pager explosions that occurred on September 17.
«A wave of enemy explosions targeting walkie-talkies ... killed 14 people and injured more than 450,» AFP cited the Lebanese Health Ministry’s statement.
Walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah members also exploded in the port city of Tyre.
On Tuesday, thousands of pagers exploded, killing 12 people and injuring more than 2,700. Hezbollah blames Israel for the incident and promises «bloody revenge.»
Israeli authorities have not commented directly on the incident, but Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced the beginning of a «new phase of the war» and the transfer of the «center of gravity of military efforts» to the northern direction, to the border with Lebanon.
