MP Daniyar Tolonov reported at a meeting of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan that members of the Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy Committee recently held a visiting meeting at the National Bank, where its representatives could not tell how many citizens had suffered from fraud.
Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Mels Attokurov said that from 300 to 500 victims of fraud contact the bank every month. He told that 200 complaints had been received just the day before.
Daniyar Tolonov said that MPs have long been sounding the alarm about the increasing cases of fraud and are asking the National Bank to prevent this.
«You replied that you were working on it. Two months have passed since then, and nothing has been done. We also receive a lot of information about fraud. We then asked to suspend the issuance of online loans, but you did not listen. Who will be responsible for this? People go to the bank, say that they did not take loans, they are told that an application from them was received and they are forced to pay,» the deputy said.
