Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Melis Turgunbaev was reprimanded, his deputies Manas Zhakypov and Kaiyp Kulenbekov were dismissed. The press service of the President reported.
The reason for the dismissals was insufficient work in the field of monetary policy, which led to volatility of exchange rates and negatively affected all sectors of the economy, worsening the well-being of citizens and entrepreneurs.
«Negative factors affecting the economy created risks of loss of confidence on the part of business, financial markets, the population and investors. As a result of the analysis of the situation and assessment of the consequences, a decision was made to dismiss Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Manas Zhakypov from his post due to loss of confidence,» the statement says.
In addition, Chairman of the National Bank Melis Turgunbaev was reprimanded for improper coordination of the work of the management team.
It is noted that these decisions were taken by President Sadyr Japarov as a forced measure in the context of loss of control in the area entrusted to him, which negatively affected the stability of the banking system and the national economy.
«This measure is necessary to restore the stable functioning of the financial market and return to effective management,» the statement says.
Deputy Chairman of the National Bank Kaiyp Kulenbekov was dismissed from his post based on the submitted resignation letter.
