Four athletes to represent Kyrgyzstan at 2024 Paralympics in Paris

The 2024 Olympic Games are now forever inscribed in the history of Kyrgyz sports with six medals won by members of the national team. The Paralympic Games will start in Paris on August 28, where the Kyrgyz Republic will be represented by four athletes — in powerlifting, triathlon, athletics and judo.

The blind runner Gulnaz Zhuzbaeva with her guide Yulia Fernas secured the first berth at the Paralympic Games. She fulfilled the standard for para athletics at a distance of 1,500 meters in Nottwil (Switzerland).

Aitunuk Zhoomart kyzy will compete in para triathlon. She secured a berth by fulfilling the standard of the qualification system for the Paralympic Games. In 2022, the athlete won a bronze medal in two distances in the World Cup Series. In 2023, she became a silver medalist of the World Cup and the Asian champion in para triathlon.

Mamatibraim Suranov is a judoka. He will represent Kyrgyzstan in the judo among the visually impaired in the weight category up to 73 kilograms.

Mirgul Bolotalieva will compete at the Paralympic Games in para powerlifting in the weight category up to 86 kilograms. She is the only female powerlifter with disability in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The XVII Paralympic Games 2024 will be held from August 28 to September 8 in the capital of France, Paris. The competitions will be held on the same sites that were previously used for the Summer Olympic Games 2024.
