The State Construction Agency will demolish illegal structures in the coastal zone of Issyk-Kul lake. The head of the agency Nurdan Oruntaev announced at a press conference.
According to him, inspections have been conducted since the spring. Many buildings that do not meet the requirements have already been demolished.
Nurdan Oruntaev emphasized that, in accordance with the presidential decree, there should be no buildings in the 100-meter buffer zone around the lake. Inspections are carried out on foot, and UAVs are also used.
«When objects without the necessary documents are detected, we have demolished, are demolishing and will continue to demolish them. This applies to both light and permanent structures,» the head of the agency said.
Recall, the head of state signed the decree in April 2022. It states that one of the main sources of pollution of the lake and the territory of Issyk-Kul are cities and villages located in the coastal zone and along the banks of rivers flowing into the lake. Residents, organizations and enterprises dump wastewater and waste into rivers and sometimes directly into the lake, as treatment facilities are either absent or work poorly. As a result, a lot of dangerous polluted wastewater containing organic and chemical substances ends up in the lake.
