Kyrgyzstan's budget has doubled over the past three years — Akylbek Japarov

Budget funds have doubled over the past three years in Kyrgyzstan. The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said at a meeting of the Board of the Presidential Executive Office.

According to him, if in 2020 the country’s consolidated budget was 247.7 billion soms, then in 2023 budget resources reached 577.2 billion soms.

«In fiscal policy we are introducing technologies that meet the requirements of the time. Taxpayers are happy with this. They no longer need to wait in lines to submit reports. Significant progress has also been observed in the use of cash registers — their number exceeds 100,000 to date, and over the past three years this figure has increased sixfold. We will continue this policy,» Akylbek Japarov said.

The head of the Cabinet noted that the promotion of domestic and foreign investment would be stepped up, emphasizing that the development of the industrial sector is a priority.

«We are actively opening new enterprises. As part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region, it was planned to open at least 100 new ones. 29 enterprises have been commissioned since the beginning of 2024. Large projects are being implemented, such as the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 and China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. To maintain the current pace, professionalism, a creative approach to work and iron discipline are needed,» he said.

Akylbek Japarov also added that new pages in the development of tourism would soon be opened. Three large infrastructure tourism projects will be implemented: Kyrgyz Courchevel, Baytik Resort and Chatkal Resort.

«The country has begun building Kyrgyz Courchevel. The French company S3V, one of the first operators of the world-famous resort, is implementing Three Peaks ski cluster in Kyrgyzstan. There will be 200 kilometers of ski trails. The resort will operate all year round and will be able to accommodate up to 850,000 tourists annually. It will be the largest recreation area in Central Asia. Work is also underway to create Baytik Resort cluster. The issue of opening Chatkal Resort ski cluster together with Uzbekistan is being considered,» the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers said.
