President Sadyr Japarov travels to Balykchi by train

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov made an unscheduled visit to the capital’s railway station Bishkek-2 on July 28. The press service of the president reported.

The head of state got acquainted with the progress of the station’s reconstruction, current repair work, inspected the premises and the adjacent territory.

The railway station was built in 1938. Over the past decades, the building of the railway station Bishkek-2 has not undergone major repairs.

The president instructed the management of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu state enterprise to take into account all comments on passenger safety and take the necessary measures to eliminate them.

Sadyr Japarov then went to Balykchi by train, communicating with Kyrgyzstanis and taking joint photos along the way.

He also spoke with the General Director of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu state enterprise Azamat Sakiev on the train. He informed the head of state about the progress of the construction of Balykchy-Kochkor-Kara-Keche railway, the length of which will be 186 kilometers. Sakiev said that the roadbed has been erected and culverts have been built up to the 38th kilometer. It is planned to complete 40 kilometers of the railway by the end of the year.

It should be noted that in 2022 Sadyr Japarov launched the construction of Balykchy-Kochkor-Kara-Keche railway. This project is of great social and economic importance for the country.
