A 53-year-old citizen of China was detained at Dostuk-Avtodorozhny checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to it, the foreigner tried to illegally take $355,000 out of Kyrgyzstan without a customs declaration.
The state committee recalled that in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers resolution of January 13, 2023, a temporary ban was imposed on the export of cash foreign currency from Kyrgyzstan. Foreigners are prohibited from taking out of the country more than $5,000 in cash, and citizens of Kyrgyzstan cannot take out more than $10,000. If the exported amount exceeds the established limit, the state charges a fee of 10 percent of the excess limit.
