According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, China became the main investor in Kyrgyzstan in the first quarter of 2024. The inflow of Chinese investments increased by 180.1 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023, amounting to 26 percent of all foreign investments.
Russia takes second place among investors, despite a decrease in its investment by 89.2 percent in 2024. Russian investments account for 20 percent of total direct investment in the country.
The third largest investor is Turkey, which increased its investments by 341.7 percent. Turkey’s share is 14 percent of all foreign direct investments.
Investments from Germany showed the highest growth, having increased by 1,399.3 percent. The share of German direct investment accounted for 9 percent of all foreign direct investment.
In the first quarter of 2024, the total volume of foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan amounted to $200.3 million, which is 17.2 percent more compared to the same period last year.
