Mudflows in Nookat: Search for missing child continues

Search for a child, who may have fallen into a mudflow, continues near Abshyr-Sai river. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported to 24.kg news agency.

The number of casualties as a result of mudflows in Nookat district, according to the latest data, has reached nine people. The body of another citizen was found on June 30.

Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Departments of Internal Affairs of Osh and Batken regions with search and rescue dogs are involved in the search work.

The destructive mudflow occurred in Nookat district of Osh region at approximately 4.10 p.m. on June 28. Due to heavy rains, mudflows flooded dozens of courtyards, damaging several bridges and roads. An emergency situation has been declared in the district.
